Adex Personnel is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join one of its partners, a leader in the food and beverage manufacturing industry and a major player in meat processing, based in Montreal. Reporting directly to the Plant Director, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance team supervisors to ensure optimal performance of production machinery, associated services, and building integrity. The Manager ensures that their teams meet departmental objectives, management expectations, production needs, company quality standards, as well as health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that preventive and corrective maintenance within the department maintains an optimal and high-quality level of service.
  • Lead the department in alignment with the strategic priorities of the company.
  • Effectively supervise the team of mechanics and electromechanics, including managing timesheets, discipline, and overtime.
  • Conduct regular assessments of service quality, ensure compliance with contractual agreements, and manage the renewal of subcontracting contracts.
  • Ensure the availability of skilled human resources, as well as necessary parts, equipment, and materials for planned work.
  • Keep inventory up to date, ensure the smooth operation of the store, and optimize the parts purchasing process.
  • Continuously work to reduce unplanned production downtime to meet production targets.
  • Facilitate effective and constructive communication with production and quality departments to support company priorities.
  • Oversee ongoing staff training and conduct annual performance evaluations.
  • Ensure all department operations comply with workplace health and safety standards.
  • Manage the department to meet environmental standards applicable to equipment, services, and buildings.
  • Handle maintenance-related project management as needed.
  • Ensure that actions taken in his role support the production of products that meet the company's quality and food safety standards.
  • Perform other related tasks as needed.
SQF/HACCP Requirements:

- Ensure actions in his role support the production of products with the quality and food safety criteria defined by the company;

- Ensure compliance with SQF food safety code requirements and report any food safety issues to authorized personnel.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or a College Diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering or a relevant field.
  • At least ten years of experience in maintenance supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience with maintenance management software.
  • Advanced technical analysis and planning skills.
  • A deep understanding of continuous improvement processes.
  • Proven ability to make decisions and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong personnel management skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.
