Adex Personnel is looking for a Computer Installation Technician (M/F) on behalf of one of its partners, a recognized leader in technological transformation. 

In this position, you will be working on a client project within the Finance sector for a term until the end of March 2023, in the city of Quebec

Responsibilities: 

Actively participate in a large-scale project aimed at:

  • Convert laptops to full workstations on time and on cost.
  • Redesign workstations to allow employees to experience a gradual and efficient return.
  • Allow employees to be fully operational in this new hybrid context between teleworking and face-to-face work.
  • Increase the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of products and services provided to users
  • Increase the efficiency of the employer's processes when handling incidents.
  • Increase customer satisfaction by maximizing the throughput of delivered usable and quantifiable value
  • Reduce the number of equipment to be supported in the computer park and the costs of updating equipment.

As a station installation technician, you will be required to:

  • Ensure the configuration of laptops
  • Proceed with the delivery of the material to the users
  • Perform recovery of desktop computers and arrange workstations according to required specifications.
  • Provide technical support to the IT warehouse.
  • Install, refit, remove or configure various computer equipment (desktop computers, mice, monitors, port replicator, keyboards, etc.).
  • Install and configure various computer equipment and software.
  • Provide technical assistance to users.
  • Respond to various requests related to computer equipment used by users.
  • Prepare equipment for shipment.
  • Update the inventory in the management system.
  • Remove the hard drive and/or erase it according to established standards.
  • Remove the BIOS password, according to the procedures in place.
  • Respond to different tasks, planned or not, to meet customer requests.
  • Be aware of problems with the use or operation of computer equipment and notify the scrum leader.
  • Perform mobile service provider upgrades and cell phone enhancements. This involves:
  • Change the SIM card for the mobile service provider upgrade.
  • Install the Maas360 (Mobile as a Service) enterprise solution.
  • Set up the company profile
  • Configures Outlook Enterprise
  • Start available updates
  • Synchronize the corporate calendar
  • Sync corporate contacts
  • Answer users' questions
  • Participate in a major mobile service provider migration project, which involves a migration of more than 1635 devices.
  • Participate in an internal project to massively upgrade mobile phone devices 

Environment:

  • Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 and Microsoft Office 365 office suite
  • Windows 10 operating systems
  • Console SCCM
  • CA Service Desk Manager (ITSM) Incident Management Tool
  • Mobile Desktop Management Console: MAAS360 – Mobile As A Service 

Requirements: 

  • Hold a diploma of studies (DEP or AEC) in the field of computer science or a related discipline.
  • Accumulate a minimum of one (1) year of experience in office and IT support
  • Possess the following skills and knowledge:
  • Support IT equipment
  • Configure computer devices and peripherals
  • Provide technical support for mobile services (smart cell phones)
  • Have provided office support on computer workstations running Windows 10 and containing the Office 2013 office suite
  • Possess protective footwear with protective toecaps (steel or composite) and CAS SD antistatic sole.
